Andrea Plunket, who holds the U.S. copyright to Sherlock Holmes is not happy that Robert Downey Jr. has been joking that the subtext of Holmes and Watson in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes is gay.

Said Plunket: “I hope this is just an example of Mr. Downey's black sense of humour. It would be drastic, but I would withdraw permission for more films to be made if they feel that is a theme they wish to bring out in the future. I am not hostile to homosexuals, but I am to anyone who is not true to the spirit of the books.”

Actress Billie Piper has revealed that she is often mistaken for a call girl. The 27-year-old played the saucy role of real-life call girl Belle Du Jour in the TV series The Secret Diaries Of A Call Girl and said people sometimes believe that is her real occupation. Piper is married to 31-year-old actor Laurence Fox and they have a one-year-old son Winston.

She said to UK magazine Marie Claire: 'It's funny. When Laurence and I go out into the countryside, I think a few of the older locals actually believe I'm a whore.

'They love Laurence because he's in [TV show] Lewis. Then they look at me and are like: 'That slag! How could you dirty yourself with her? She's corrupted you.''
